Hello,
I'm Valérie, French-German, and I founded my jewelry brand, Valerievienne, in Vienna in 2019. Before that, I studied art therapy in Germany and the netherlands, i love getting around and moving places. This period had a profound impact on my career and continues to influence my creative process. For the past three years, I've been living in Switzerland, where I set up my studio in Lausanne, on the shores of Lake Geneva. This is where I carefully create statement jewelry and handmade wall-hangings and objects.
Through my creations, I want to encourage people to wear color and express themselves freely. My inspiration comes from human encounters, strolls through the city and my travels, but also from everything that surrounds me in my daily life.
The creation
I create each piece in small series or unique pieces from the initial idea and sketch to the finished earring.
The step by step creation process is done with great love and patience, even down to the smallest details. All colors are mixed by hand using a pasta machine, the shapes are cut out, and then baked several times. Each piece is then carefully sanded and drilled with a Dremel before being assembled with surgical steel findings. This process is "zero waste": any excess material is reused and remixed to create new shades.
I like to play with geometric and original shapes, always seeking to offer unique and surprising creations. Through my polymer clay jewelry, a durable and light material, I want to create a powerful, soft and colorful universe, which brings a touch of joy and happiness to everyday life.
